Ebb and Flow: Fragments of Matrescence | Sandra Rizzo

Ebb and flow explores the physical and emotional transformation in pregnancy and early motherhood. The paintings reject stereotypical views that romanticize, condemn, or undervalue motherhood. They focus on the ambivalent and transformative nature of the maternal experience, weaving together personal and collective memories. Figuration, abstraction, and collage come together to reveal deeper dimensions of the transition to motherhood.
